What’s happening on our southern border is abhorrent. Racist. Immoral.
We can and must continue to raise our voices in strong opposition to Trump and the GOP’s policies. There are three regional actions taking place on June 30, in Northampton, Greenfield, and Pittsfield. You can find more information about them here.
And, we must bring this fight home to the Commonwealth and help win the passage of the Safe Communities Act. The legislation has passed the Senate. It’s in the House, so that’s where we must focus our advocacy.
Here’s what we could win:
- No state support for Muslim registry
- Basic due process rights for people detained by the police
- A ban from allowing police departments to be deputized as ICE agents
This is a moment to take to the streets in protest of toxic Trump policies and call state lawmakers to demand their swift action in defense of our communities which are under attack.
